At HTI, discipleship is more than a class or weekly meeting. The heart of discipleship is based in developing an intimate relationship with God, allowing Him to define who you are. We strive to dig into who God has called you to be, and to pursue that calling passionately. You'll spend your year working closely with the HTI Director and Harvest Time Staff, all of whom make it a main priority to invest in your life.
The true heart of HTI is developing men and women of God and helping them discover their God given dreams, desires and identity. Take time to purposefully invest in your relationship with God, and allow HTI to join with you in a growing relationship with Jesus.
Harvest Time understands the importance of education in today's culture. We believe that you shouldn't be forced between pursuing your academic dreams or pursuing growth in your spiritual walk. And for many, having a job is just as important as seeking an education. So whether you want to go to school and/or keep your day job, at HTI, you can grow academically and spiritually.
The HT Interns schedule works like this:
We believe that some of the most important learning doesn't happen in a book, a class or lesson, but from actively experiencing ministry on a day to day basis. The experience HTI provides allows you to gain from experienced HT staff members on an individual basis.
All of our interns will work in a specific area of ministry of their choice under the HT ministry department head. You can apply to one of five Harvest Time ministries:
The heart of HT worship is to glorify God, but in today's culture it is important to also utilize the tools and gifts we have to foster a worshipful heart, expectation and experience for people. You'll have the opportunity to not only be a part of worship teams across Harvest Time, but also help the Worship Pastor in facilitating them.
This will include tasks such as music selection, music prep, music theory, song writing, volunteer organization and much more. You will also be a part of team building and learning how to build worship teams with a passion for God, as well as helping with multiple creative elements in HT worship services.
Interns who choose to work outreach ministry will be exposed to multiple aspects of Harvest Time ministry. Pastoral experience extends from reaching the lost to caring for the hurting and everything in between. Interns will work in two specific areas of ministry, Community Impact and Care Ministry.
While working with the Care Ministry, you'll have the opportunity to work with staff pastors in their weekly responsibilities and getting hands-on pastoral training. You'll also work with our Care Ministry Director with visitations, hospital ministry and Fresh Start, Harvest Time's program for life change.
You will also work with the HT Community Impact Director. Whether you help run a block party in an apartment community or give away Christmas gifts to needy children, you'll have the chance to manifest the love of God outside the church walls.
Interns will be deeply involved in the core leadership at 180Remix, the youth and young adult ministry of Harvest Time.
All youth ministry at Harvest Time's 180remix flows in and out of remix groups. Remix groups are simply small groups of around 20 people that provide a great opportunity to build lasting relationships. You'll be responsible for the weekly planning and execution of the group meetings, events and most importantly, discipleship. Youth interns will also serve in The Alliance, 180Remix’s youth leadership team.
Interns will also help with 180remix retreats and events. We believe in doing things BIG in order to reach the lost for Christ. Each year, we host two major retreats for our students and also help to organize and run Genesis Conference - a nationwide youth conference hosted rich here at Harvest Time.
Every week, Harvest Time has hundreds of kids come through the doors to experience the God’s Word. HTKids focuses on teaching three basic truths to kids every week, and HT Interns will play a major role in communicating these. Whether it's through storytelling, live skits, videos or small group experience, every HTKids intern will be a part of Sunday service elements, along with wednesday night service and monthly kids outreaches. Interns will receive experience in praise and worship, acting, creating stage designs, writing and prepping curriculum, media creation, behavioral management, and much more.
HT Creative is responsible for creating environments and elements that are conducive for the Holy Spirit to do His work in the hearts of those who attend, watch or listen to our services.
During your internship you will receive opportunities to work in graphic design, web development and video production, along with many of our live service elements including running cameras, coordinating services, lighting and sound.
Interns will be majorly investing in their ministry of choice. Outside of the normal intern hours, they will also experience ministry events associated with their specific ministry. Whether its leading a small group for youth, helping to lead a choir practice, or meeting new people at an outreach event, the investment made by interns will have a huge impact in the community.
In order to allow for greater financial freedom for the individual, the total cost has been kept as low as possible, at only $500 for the year. This only includes your internship. (Living arrangements, food, transportation, etc. are not included.)
